• To watch: Just click a video to launch the player. You can discover videos by channel, tag, user, features, most recent or most popular.
• To share: Come up with an idea, catch it on video, join Dailymotion, upload the video, and tag it so other users can find it.
• To participate: Join a group. A group is a community of people who publish videos based on a common interest, theme, location, hobby, or whatever.

Tags are keywords you add to videos to make them easier to find.

The tagging process enables user-driven navigation within channels and throughout the site. For example, if you upload a video of your birthday party in Hawaii to the “Travel” channel, you could tag it "birthday party travel Hawaii beach summer". People browsing the Travel channel might find it under "Hawaii" or "beach", and anyone on the site could find it by searching for any of your terms. You can also search tags by adding them to the site URL like this: "www.dailymotion.com/tag/hawaii+birthday" etc.

The more you tag, the more you share!

2. Choose a username and password, and enter a valid email address.

2. Type in the names of the friends you would like to send a message to (you can send a message only to your contacts).
3. Type a subject, write your message and click "send." The person you send the message to will be notified the next time they log in, or by a notification email, depending upon their account preferences.

2. Click on "friend requests", then "approve" or "ignore" the pending requests.

Motionmakers are users who upload original videos to Dailymotion; they form a growing community of creative web producers. Motionmakers enjoy increased exposure and promotional opportunities in the editorial areas of Dailymotion. To be considered for the Motionmaker program, a user must upload videos that are wholly original and do not violate the intellectual property rights of any third party or copyright holder. The videos must also be sufficiently creative - that is to say, interesting, artful, and compelling to a wide audience. As a general rule, personal and home videos do not qualify as Creative Content.

All potential Motionmaker videos are screened by Dailymotion staff to determine if the video is both creative and original. Once an applicant's first video has been validated as Creative Content, his Motionmaker status is confirmed. Each proceeding video submitted as Creative Content will also be validated before the premium benefits are applied.

Motionmakers receive a badge on their user profiles, are grouped separately from other users, and may also personalize their profile. Motionmakers may also submit videos of unlimited filesize (though they must be web-optimized) and unlimited duration (these will not be published until validated as creative content). Videos submitted by Motionmakes - once validated - are re-encoded for the best quality possible (including HD support) and receive a Creative Content badge around their video thumbnail.

Motionmakers represent the best emerging web producers, from a variety of fields, whose talent and creativity earn them distinction on Dailymotion. Motionmaker videos may be featured on the homepage as well as in various promotional areas on Dailymotion.

Motionmaker videos are identified by the badge affixed to their video thumbnails. To receive the Creative Content badge, the user must enroll in the Motionmaker program and submit their videos for validation. All Creative Content videos have been reviewed by Dailymotion to determine that they meet the criteria of the Motionmaker program - namely, that they are original, creative videos produced for the web. As a general rule, personal and home videos do not qualify as Creative Content.

Motionmaker videos with the Creative Content label benefit from better encoding and HD support, and may be selected for promotion on the Dailymotion homepage.
